The calendering is used to make plates and slides that are shaped thermally at a later point to create products for the food, pharmaceutical and automotive industries, as well as other applications.
This process consists of the introduction of PVC into a conventional extruder composed of a plastification cylinder covered by electrical resistance and a screw. After being plastified by the extruder, the material goes over a flat dye headstock that distributes it to a system of rollers, creating the thickness and final aspect of the slide/plate.
